Network Systems Administrator

XE is seeking a Jr Network Systems Administrator to join our team. Reporting to the IT Manager, the Jr Network Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the XE computing infrastructure and assisting XE staff with computer related issues. This includes datacenter server systems, network equipment, virtualization, cloud deployments, and desktop support.

  • Maintain hardware and software infrastructure to ensure continued stability
  • Analyze logs, data, and other sources of information to ensure ongoing infrastructure stability
  • Test and deploy changes to web apps and pages, as well as deploying services to servers for both internal and external use.
  • Assist XE staff with computer related issues.
  • Research potential hardware and software upgrades.
  • Develop plans, projects and policies to be implemented within the company.
  • Develop scripts for automated tasks.
  • Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Highly proficient with Linux services in a demanding production environment
  • Experience with AWS, VMware, virtualization, docker, and Cloud Provider platforms
  • Experience with networking equipment and protocols
  • Experience in datacenters and highly available environments
  • Experience with Windows server and Mac desktop operating systems and services
  • Basic programming/scripting in relevant languages
  • Experience working with development teams, deploying updates and issue management
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with peers and Executives.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to take initiative and see projects through to completion

  • Experience with any of the following is highly desired:
